Demosthenes

If you are here reading my blog please keep in mind all I write is to try and get people to think, about the world around them. Because I know I may not relay my ideas and thoughts very well but on the most part the idea gets understood, recognised and maybe repeated to another person.

Darwin Or God? Why Not Both?!

The origin of our species, did we evolve to what we are now or were we created by some all-powerful being in the sky?
I say that Darwin was correct in saying that we evolved to what we are now, but does that mean that some divine being does not exist, no. So what if it was proven that Adam and Eve never existed, does it destroy the entire religion, no. It just makes way for a more rational way of thinking, and also a much more believable story of where we came from, I mean if Adam and Eve did exist then everyone would be related and part of one huge incestuous family. I personally think a god that can create a universe full of planets that constantly evolve and change is much more believable than a god who creates an incestuous family.
So does Darwin's theory destroy religion? no. Does it destroy the possibility of a god or goddess in some cases? no.
(I realise that this is shorter than my usual posts but this could have gone on forever and I just wanted to make a point)

Seeing

People today take everything they have for granted, they walk and ran and jump, when there are people who can do none of those things. They ignore the wonderful natural beauties around them when some people would die to be able to see at all. And we are taking and using so much from the world itself we are destroying it.
Selfishness and greed. This is what lies within every human being of the planet. We seek to make our lives so full of pleasure and happiness we ignore all else. Just look around, see the intricate lines on leaves as they rustle about the tree's and f litter down to the ground. Realise that your body is precious and treat it accordingly, don't take risks that could kill you. Listen to the birds chirping and leaves rustling and the wind blowing, respect the world around you and treasure it.
This piece of work was inspired by my poor eye sight, I can still see luckily but I short-sighted, so the green leaves in the trees are no more than smudges, and a few weeks ago I saw a tree properly for the first time and I was amazed, because I realised that I had never seen I tree, I had only ever seen blurs of colour, I was nearly brought to tears in my amazement.
I hope after reading this that you will try to see and feel and listen to all that is around you.

Love & Hate

Love, is it anything more than chemical reactions within your brain? To be honest I do not know, but it is my opinion that you love someone for who they are, the good and bad qualities, no matter what they do. I cannot explain how you can love someone unconditionally if it is just caused by a chemical because I do not understand myself, but love is necessary in everyone's lives if we are to live healthily, we need the love of our mothers, of our fathers, of our brothers and sisters, of our friends and of our fellow human beings, but this will never happen.
Because there are to many people in this world who have done too many terrible things, rape murder, kidnapping. The people who commit these crimes may love them, but that is not the love I speak of, I speak of the love between a pair, a mother and her child, a pair of brothers or a man and his lover. This is the love I speak of, and it is unconditional.
And there is no such thing as love at first sight, to love someone you must know them, you cannot know someone by one glance, you can feel lust for someone at first sight but that is not love.
And you cannot have love without a contrasting emotion or feeling, hate. People use the word hat way too much in this day and age, you can dislike someone easily enough, but hate is a very strong term and must be taken seriously.
Love and hate can both melt away over time and reveal a different disposition for the subject, you can love someone at first and then end up hating them, you could hate someone and end up realising you love to hate them thus loving who they are so you can hate them.
So before you say that you love or hate someone, just think are you ready to commit to it.

What Does The Government Actually Have

The government, how much do we actually need them? Really, there is precious little helpful things that it actually does.
It keeps order with the law's and rules.
It funds certain causes (But only to boost its popularity with a certain group of “voters”).
It doesn't fix the environment.
It doesn't help individuals.
It doesn't care about people, only about profits and voting.
It doesn't seek permission to wage terrible wars against other governments.
And the lists go on and on and on and on, we cannot live without a governmental system, and we can live with the one we have because it leads us to either more war or a greater ecological disaster every day.
And there is precious little we can do about it other than hope and dream that eventually someone good might one day come into power but we all know that that isn't going to happen any time soon.
All the government is interested is in getting more money and staying in control, and because of this the entire population of the world is suffering for only a few greedy, selfish and narcissistic men and women, once again human kinds lust for power has doomed it to pain and misery.
But without us, the public the government has nothing does it? Now I'm not saying that we should rise up against the governments of the world in a global rebellion, all I ever write is to get people to think, now think about what the government has and then think about what it needs, and then think, is that where it is going, is that the goal it is striving to achieve. No. It isn't. And without encouragement it is very likely that it never will happen, unless someone smart enough to realise that we are heading towards disaster comes in quickly and saves the day, but that wont happen.
It would be a miracle if it did, it would be a miracle if human kind saved itself. Because all human kind has ever done or ever will is damage and destroy itself while precious few actually try to heal the massive wounds of human kinds lust for power.

Truth or Lies

Lies, are they truly always a bad thing? Are they, I personally say yes. Some would say that lies will help protect them and others from the harsh and painful truth, but then they will just be hurt even more later on. But then again don't parents lie to their children and tell them majestic tales of happiness and joy and wonder to keep the happy, why does it change with age? Is it because we are supposed to get more mature and without doing anything worthy of respect other than getting older we suddenly deserve to be treated as adults? Why must people be hurt more because some people are just to worrisome to tell the truth. And what about the whole “They wont experience the real world” and “They have a right to know the truth” or “Who gave you the right to decide what they get to know?” arguments that show that for no matter what reason lying hurts people much more than the truth will, you just need to the truth and things will become clearer, yes their will be tough times but everything will fall back into place sooner or later, a terrible painting will become a wondrous mosaic.

The Human Soul

The human soul, what is it, does it matter and does anybody care, in truth I do not know any absolute answer. Some would say the soul is the nature of each and every human and that it does matter and they do care, but do they actually really understand their own words. Maybe they do and maybe they don t, I am not here to talk to you about what other people believe but what I believe and what I believe others believe, and may very well be wrong in my predictions but I will tell you what I think the human soul is.
Violence, anger, war and hatred will always contribute to the soul, from all the knowledge of our own past their has been violence, when man created the first tool, he used it to become stronger and strike down his fellow man in humankind's ever continuing quest for power. Humans hate each other even without knowing every single fact, Hitler for example, almost every human being hates him for his deathly crusade against the Jewish people and he may have had reasonable reasons for it but we may never know, I am not saying I agree with Hitler but we may not know every single detail. People hate each other for what they know or don't know, for what they believe or don't believe, for what they do or don't do. We wage mighty battles against each other in our attempts to grow our lands thus making ourselves more powerful. We seek knowledge to make ourselves smarter and wiser, to make ourselves more powerful.
Everything that human kind has ever done is almost entirely selfish, for one's own gain, I admit to you that I believe that death, the ability to kill, the lust and need to kill lies within every human. But that does not mean that goodness never existed or ever will, it has existed, it does exist and may we hope that it continues to exist for the rest of time, but I let myself get a little of topic. Everyone knows someone who is incredibly kind and helpful, they have most definitely committed some bad deed, everyone has and will continue to do but they make up for it by the way they act to others no matter how they are treated. They are the shoulder you lean on when you cry, they are the people you turn to for help, they are the people you trust the most, they are the people who do not judge you no matter what you do. The existence of these people proves that their may be many dark and terrible things in the human soul, whatever it truly is but there is also a brighter side, to sides of the same coin.
So I conclude that “the soul” is the nature of a human individual, it is who they are and the choices they make. It holds good and bad aspects, but then again so do yin and yang, polar opposites working together to create a balance. The good and the bad traits of a person is their soul.

This is what I believe, you can interpret my work anyway you like and believe what you want, for it is your choice.
